Hope This Finds You well

  • Writers Room 229 North 34th Street Philadelphia, PA, 19104 United States (map)

An address is not just a physical location but a symbol of safety, belonging, and identity, tied to our sense of grounding and place in the world. Please join Writers Room and guest artist Simeen Anjum for Hope this Finds You Well, an interactive art project that delves into the complex relationship between people and the concept of their postal address.

Together we’ll write letters to an address, either one that no longer exists or one we’ve left behind. These letters will serve as both personal reflections and collective testimonies of the diverse ways people relate to the spaces they call "home." Collectively, we’ll share stories that reveal the rich tapestry of experiences that form our connection to place.

The workshop will conclude with reflections on the significance of a current or former address, exploring the memories, emotions, and associations it holds, and an invitation to mail your postcard to the current residents of your old address.
