Join us for a special “America 250” edition of our monthly writing workshop at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood, in partnership with the PA Humanities Window Keepers initiative, led by Writers Room Teaching Artist Ms. Carol Richardson McCullough.
Inspired by Philadelphia Poet Laureate Yolanda Wisher's poem The Window Keeper , these workshops invite community members to explore the history, ideals, contradictions, and evolving meaning of American democracy through conversation, writing, and reflection.
With guided discussion and creative responses, participants will engage with questions about freedom, justice, civic responsibility, and the future of democracy while connecting personal experiences to broader civic themes.
Join us as we create space for thoughtful dialogue, shared learning, and community reflection. Free and open to all, with community dinner immediately following.
Window Keeper: Community Workshops is an initiative of PA Humanities. Support is provided in part by the National Endowment for the Arts, Pennsylvania state legislators, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, and individual donor Randall Miller.
