Join us for our monthly workshop at the Dornsife Center for Neighborhood! Poet, artist, and audio storyteller, Sojourner Ahebeearchives moments of intimacy between Black women – modeling what intimate care and witness can look like for all of us. Leaning on Black feminist bell hooks’ definition of "homeplace" as a site of resistance, Sojourner will guide participants to reflect on the many uses and powers of the home.
The January workshop will focus on the theme of home as a witness and site of care. Participants will generate original "homeplace" guides and spells for conjuring home in the service of survival and positive self-regard.
Free and open to all, with community dinner immediately following.
