ABCs of Afro-Asian Solidarity

  • Ross Commons 229 North 34th Street Philadelphia, PA, 19104 United States (map)

Writers Room’s UnMapping Project invites you to this workshop and book event with scholars Chi-ming Yang and Sterling Johnson, and UnMapping Co-Instructors Carol McCullough and Lauren Lowe. Yang and Johnson will discuss H is for Horse, Yang’s newly released publication on Octavia Butler. They’ll present a framework for ethically telling the stories of others, and the connection between Yang’s scholarship and Afro-Asian solidarity. We’ll then participate in an interactive exercise to understand solidarity as an action, not just an abstract academic term. Refreshments provided!

Refreshments provided, please RSVP here! Copies of H is for Horse will be given away to the first twenty attendees.
