WOOLFOLK

FELLOW

Meet UnMapping Fellow Terrell Woolfolk. He was born and raised in West Philadelphia. Terrell was released from prison in July 2022 after his life sentence was commuted. While behind bars, Terrell was a hospice volunteer and authored three published novels, several short stories, poems, and personal essays. He co-authored articles published by Northwestern Law Review and forthcoming in Columbia University’s Law Review Forum. He is a co-creator of Writing Through The Walls, a writing exchange program with men who are incarcerated in a state prison outside of Philadelphia. A graduate of Villanova, he is currently pursuing a master’s in creative writing at Drexel University. His Coming Home initiative is a project designed to collect the stories of people who are returning home after decades in Pennsylvania prisons. Their narratives will provide the information that’s desperately needed to support their transition, materially and emotionally.
